An Add-On is like an application program which adds additional functions and improves the ability of a program to work in the effective way by increasing the performance of inserted add-on utility. The term add-in is often used instead of add-on for chips you add to a board that is already installed in a computer. In contrast, add-on almost always refers to an entire circuit board.
Developers and programmers can easily extend the functions by add-on insertion.
