Stands for “Address Resolution Protocol”, is just a combined with the IP (Internet Protocol) for applying a 32-bit IP Address to some MAC address that’s acknowledged within the regional community given in RFC 826.
 

The host or marketing system returns an answer containing the necessary address once acknowledged. It is ensures that every computer has unique network identification. The Address Resolution Protocol uses a simple message format containing one address resolution request or response.
 

The size of the ARP message depends on the upper layer and lower layer address sizes, which are given by the type of networking protocol (usually IPv4) in use and the type of hardware or virtual link layer that the upper layer protocol is running on.
