Stands for “digital subscriber line access multiplexer”, is a network system, usually situated in telephone transactions, that connects multiple client digital subscriber line interfaces to some high speed electronic communications channel.

It passes through the ATM to the Internet, then back through the DSLAM and ADSL modem before returning to the customer’s PC.
