KDE stands for “K desktop Environment” is a software job started in 1996 by Matthias Ettrich and is a GUI establishing for UNIX and Linux systems.

KDE is now a popular GUI and is contained with many versions of BSD, Linux, and Solaris. KDE also includes several user-friendly facial appearance, such as an application help system and standardized menus and toolbars.

It also ropes the ability to modify the interface with various skins or themes.
